Even at the most basic level, there are multiple interactions between corrosion of an asset, environmental and operating conditions, and process changes and the failure of a system or asset can be extremely complex.

Risk assessment involves the analysis of the failure potential of an asset based on life cycle assessment and structural design, and incorporates many of the individual services offered by Extrin Consultants. It starts with data collection and establishment of a data base of corrosion information about a particular plant or asset, analysis of this data, predictive client needs and failure analysis with an outcome of scheduled maintenance program planning and procedures. It can involve long term monitoring utilizing specialized monitoring equipment.
