Corrosion Testing

As a key part of its services, Extrin conducts a variety of laboratory and field tests essential to providing critical information regarding corrosivity of environments. Tests are conducted to Australian, ASTM or other international standards. Laboratory testing is generally undertaken via third party testing facilities which enables access to state of the art equipment and specialised testing facilities including NDT, SEM, EDAX, Spectrophometry, Linear polarization etc.

Acknowledging the value of laboratory testing, field testing in the exposed environment is invaluable in providing corrosion information in the actual process environment, and relative effectiveness of corrosion mitigation systems such as coating, inhibitors, materials etc. Extrin have undertaken many such field trials prior to recommendation of a final solution to suit the particular exposed environment.
