Extrin Engineer wins Sustainability Award

Simon Poggioli won the inaugural 2014 Sustainability in Engineering Society Undergraduate Researcher Award.


On 8 December, Extrin engineer Mr. Simon Poggioli won the inaugural 2014 Sustainability in Engineering Society Undergraduate Researcher Award. The event is run by Engineers Australia, and sponsored by Curtin University. A presentation was provided by Simon regarding his Civil and Construction Engineer Undergraduate Thesis titled “Durability Condition Assessment and Investigation into Concrete Culverts on the Eastern Goldfields Rail Line”. There were 5 other presenters, with Simon winning the award based on the researches viability to sustainable engineering and the quality of the presentation.
